Welcome to the District of Columbia IESNA Section Website

The District of Columbia Section was initially chartered as the Washington and Baltimore Chapter in 1927.  We currently encompass Northern Virginia (from Harrisonburg to Fredericksburg), Maryland (Columbia to Frederick), and the District of Columbia.

The District of Columbia IESNA Section

The District of Columbia Section includes architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, lighting designers, electrical contractors, lighting manufacturers and representatives. Members represent the government agencies, commercial, institutional, retirees, and the interested public.

Mission Statement:

The IESNA seeks to improve the lighted environment by bringing together those with lighting knowledge and by translating that knowledge into actions that benefit the public.

Vision Statement:

The IESNA will build upon a century of excellence to create the premier lighting community dedicated to promoting the art and science of quality lighting to its members, allied professional organizations, and the public.

Our 2008 Student Scholarship Award recipient congratulates Ms. Marissa Julien, a student at Marymount University. Marissa is our 2009 Michael B. Klein Memorial Student Scholarship recipient.

Andrea Hartranft of C.M.Kling and Associates received Award recognition for the BBG_BBGM Empire State Building Project. from our Section President, Frank Florentine.
